Getting started at Rany's Home Design Center is easy. Here is the outline of our typical design process.
INITIAL CONSULTATION - Meet with us at our showroom and begin discussing your wants and needs for your project. This can be a review of your plans, your decorating theme, your budget and any ideas and dreams you have for your project. If you have pictures, floor plan drawings, or just mental images we will start by discussing these ideas. This meeting will also allow you the opportunity to see the options available to you in cabinetry, countertops, hardware, tile, flooring, and other design elements.
FREE IN HOME DESIGN CONSULATATION - Next we would like to schedule an in home meeting for remodels and new construction. This is when we take measurements of the room(s). It is also helpful to see the orientation of the room(s) to make sure we take everything into consideration when designing the room(s).
INITIAL FLOOR PLAN - We take the information we have accumulated up to this point and draw up an intial floor plan for your project. We then schedule another meeting to discuss the layout of the room(s) and to discuss the pros and cons of the design.
FINALIZED FLOOR PLAN - After discussion of the intial floor plan we are ready to move on to the final phase of the design process. We translate the initial floor plan into a solid CAD rendering and provide you with pricing for the project. We will meet again to review the finalized floor plan and double check to make sure the design is everthing you and your family wants. If the plan is approved we will charge a fee for the plan design, which will be applied to the purchase of your cabinets for the project. We will also discuss your options regarding an installation contractor at this point.
DESIGN REVISIONS - We encourage you to take your plans home and have you and your family study the design to make sure it is just right. We want you to "play" with the design and "pretend" you are living in this newly designed room(s). For example, ask yourself "If I were preparing a salad in my new kitchen, where would I stand and where would I store the utensils I need to prepare this recipe?" or "If I were paying bills in my new office, where would I store the necessary items needed for this task?" If the design does not pass your test, we will make revisions until the design is right for you and your whole family.
CONFIRMATION AND ORDERING - When the design does meet your approval and you are ready to place and order, we will require a deposit of 50% of the purchase price. We will then return to your home to verify the measurements and other installation considerations and to verify the accuracy of every detail. We then order your cabinets. The lead time on cabinets is usually 4-6 weeks. INSTALLATION - Once your cabinets are completed, they are delivered to your home or location. We can arrange for installation or you may choose to hire your own installation contractor. We pride ourselves on having excellent communication with the contractors and clients during this critical stage of the process. We work hard to do what we say we will do and to do it when we say we will do it! |
